The missionaries for my Mum's ward live in her basement. When I first got there my mum told me about the missionaries the night before spent taking turns running back & forth to the bathroom. They both got sick at the same time. My Mum was pretty sure it was food poisoning. She knew that she had not fed them, so there was no way they got it from her.
One of the missionaries asked my mum "how long can you have spaghetti and eat it before it goes bad?" I don't remember her answer, but she made the missionaries throw it away because of the age. There was a tupperware dish with... yes you guess it Spaghetti, in the fridge that was older than a month.
But that wasn't all!
I went down to her sewing room to use her computer and just outside the door was... some dishes that had leftovers in. It seemed like the had kept some food out of the fridge and then ate it.
My Mum considered buying a fridge for the basement, but decided against it. At least with them using her fridge she can keep an eye on their food. Try to get them to throw away the bad food.
The missionaries are sweet hard working guys. They just need to avoid bad food.
